Towards the end of each semester at Gaston Day many students start preparing for exams; but when you’re in either 5th or 6th grade, you start a cross-curricular project. The cross-curricular project is an in-class project in which sixth graders are paired up with 5th graders in groups of 3 or 4. The project covers certain aspects of science, math, social studies, and English. The most recent cross-curricular theme was called “Change Campaign.”   The goal was to create a hypothetical nonprofit organization to support a cause you were assigned. My group’s cause was girls’ education. We created the organization, “ Equality for Education,” to help raise awareness and funds for girls’ education around the world. The cross curricular project is an enjoyable way to end each semester.
